CBI arrested Satyam’s Internal Auditor

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today arrested Satyam’s Internal Auditor V S Prabhakar Gupta for his alleged role in fudging of books of accounts of the software major for several years. The CBI, which had filed its charge sheet within 90 days of taking over the case, arrested him after his role came to light, CBI sources said.
He has been named as additional accused. The accused, who was produced before a City Magistrate Court, was remanded to judicial custody till November 26.
Gupta, the sources said, had helped Satyam (now Tech Mahindra) inflate employees salary bills abroad.
The arrests came in the wake of the Multi-Disciplinary team of the CBI returning after investigation in Mauritius and preparing to file supplementary charge sheet.
