CBI arrested Income Tax Commissioner and his wife

CBI on Sunday arrested an Income Tax Commissioner from Nagpur and his wife for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to their known source of income to the tune of Rs 4 crore. While IT Commissioner Ajay Kumar Singh was arrested from Mumbai airport by CBI sleuths, his wife Mrunalika Singh was His wife Mrinalika was picked up by the agency from their residence at Seminary Hills for abetting corruption. CBI officials had been on the trail of his assets over the last few days, after a tip-off.

Singh had amassed property worth crores in Mumbai in the name of his relatives from Bihar. He had opened accounts in their names at a nationalised bank in South Mumbai, from where illicit money was being transferred to the account of a city-based builder, who in turn shifted the money to another builder’s account, said special public prosecutor Ejaz Khan.

Singh failed to provide any satisfactory answer to the CBI’s queries on the source of the money and the properties, Ejaz said.

“CBI has booked the couple for amassing disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 4 crore since the year 2002 in the name of several family members, said CBI counsel Ejaz Khan.

The CBI investigation has also revealed that Singh was helped by a chartered accountant (CA) from the city. The bank account details of Singh’s relatives were found at the CA’s office. Interestingly, the account holders had pan card numbers issued from Mumbai despite being from Bihar. CBI officials, who suspect that the wealth amassed by Singh could be much more than what has come to light, will question the CA and the relatives of Singh. Superintendent of CBI, Mumbai, Abhin Modak said investigations are on in that direction.

The two accused were produced before a special CBI court in Nagpur which remanded them to CBI custody till October 27 after which they would be produced before a special court in Mumbai.

I dont think arresting one or two officer will be helpful in any way. Let CBI and ACB to make raid all the officers of revenue department of Central & State Govt.(Income Tax, Custom, CTO,DGFT, SEZ) in a single month and belive me the money they will unearth will solve most of the infrastructing fund required by india.

And may bring down corruption to considerable level. This will then reduce the black money generated by rich people.

These officer are main culprit of generation of black money.

Whether CBI have dareness to do that? I don’t think so. That they have such guts. It is not that they dont know. They are only doing nautanki by catching few officers/business man here and there.

This is a great job done by CBI.
In the above text we have read that one Chartered Accountant was involved in the Scam, the help of Chartered Accountant to such an Officer is not expected from any member of the esteemed Institute, the members of ICAI were not doing their work as per their Code of Conduct. This is because some of the high profile members think that they will not get affected by any of their mistakes as they are having good relations with the Descilplinery Committees and only because of this background they were signing any type of Reports without hesitation and without any Supporting documents/ evidence. The ICAI Descilplinery Committees should take corrective measures to avoid such events at the same time the Descilplinery Committees should punish such members by removing his anme from the Register of Members for a period of not less than Five Years and this only thing can prevent members to do any of such act.

Let the CBI raid all revenue offices and public utility office of GOI and also the state government offices at a single day on an all India basis at a same time. India will definitely need not worry about any recession or budget deficit for the next quarter century – believe me this will definitely happen if the CBI do their job as per law book (without interference of our great POLITICIANS)
